Due Process Hearings:  

Matter: In a Due Process Hearing an employee faced a possible termination.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the employer to issue a lesser sanction.

 

Matter: In a Due Process Hearing an employee faced a possible termination for improper use of force.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the employer to take no action and the employee kept his job.

 

Matter: In a Due Process Hearing an employee faced a possible demotion.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the employer to not demote the employee and allow the employee to remain in his same position.

 

Matter: In a proposed Disciplinary Action against an employee, the Department considered demoting the employee.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the Department to not demote the employer and allowed the employer to remain in her same position. 

 

Matter: A Department proposed Disciplinary Action of Termination against two employees.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the employer to issue only a written warning.

 

Administrative Appeals:

Matter: An employee was suspended for 10 days. The Jones Law Firm appealed the suspension before the Fulton County Personnel Board.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the Board to reverse the suspension. The employee was reimbursed lost salary and accrued benefits.

 

Matter: A Fulton County employee was suspended for five days. The Jones Law Firm appealed the suspension before the Fulton County Personnel Board.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm convinced the Board to reverse the suspension. The employee was reimbursed lost salary and accrued benefits.

 

Matter: A Cobb County employee was terminated and an adverse action was taken against his professional license.

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm was able to debunk the charges against the employee and  negotiate a change in status of the employee’s departure. 

 

Matter: An employee was terminated for sexual harassment.

Outcome: At a Personnel Board Appeal Hearing, The Jones Law Firm convinced the Board that the charges were unfounded; the employee was reinstated to his job and awarded back pay and benefits. 

 

Matter: An employee  was terminated for violating Department Policies. At a Personnel Board Appeal Hearing, The Jones Law Firm convinced the Board that the charges were unfounded; the Board reversed termination and ordered full back pay. The County then appealed to Fulton County Superior Court.

Outcome: The Fulton County Superior Court ruled in favor of the employee and upheld the Board’s ruling. The employee continued his career and received TWO YEARS of full back pay.

 

Matter: A Dekalb County employee was suspended for the improper use of deadly force.

Outcome: At an Administrative Hearing, the Jones Law Firm convinced the Appellate Board to revoke the suspension and the employee was reinstated.

Success stories:

Charge: A government employee was sued by a subordinate for Sexual Harassment under 42 U.S.C. 1983

Court: United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia

Outcome: The Jones Law Firm persuaded the court to grant our Motion for Summary Judgment, and the case was dismissed.

Charge: An employee was sued for violating an individual’s civil rights under 42 U.S.C. 1983.

Court: United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia

Outcome: After a six day trial jury, the jury ruled in our client’s favor.
